Nearly twenty years after leaving the Great Pulha Woodlands and making first contact with the human civilizations of this world, Acer finds the consequences of his actions catching up with him. The incident that forced him to leave the kingdom of Ludoria has brought a half-elf child into the world. After experiencing great loss and loneliness, Acer remembers the origin of the Yosogi School and decides to travel to the far east. Along the way, he meets a girl who can see spirits, a boy who uses divine arts, and even a mystic.

After his unexpectedly long stay in Ancient Gold Province, Acer bids farewell to the ancient mystics and his beloved companion Sayr, returning to his search for the origins of the Yosogi School. Across the sea, he reaches his destination: the island nation of Fusang, or “Fusou” as its people call it. He finds many things in Fusou that remind him of his time with Kaeha, as well as his own previous life, but he also faces the state of perpetual war the nation is locked in against the oni. However, that turmoil has laid the foundation for a kingdom built on the rare unity of three different races. While Acer’s search continues, the mystery behind this unified society is too intriguing for him to ignore.

After finally returning to the center of the continent, Acer’s first and most important visit is to Kaeha’s grave, where he can share with her all the stories of his travels. Her children, grandchildren, and now great-grandchildren carry on her legacy through the Yosogi School. Thanks to Acer’s journey to the Far East, he can bring them the story of Yuzuriha Yosogi and the origin of their school, as well as their lost art of forging katana. He then heads to the home of the high elves in the Forest Depths, which holds the secret to fulfilling his promise to discover the elusive white lake that Airena, Clayas, and Martena had dreamed of. However, Acer is conflicted about returning to his old home after traveling the outside world for nearly a century.

In the west-central region of the continent, Acer finds himself drawn to the Kingdom of Inelda. While it was once ruled by humans, rumor has it that the region’s elves gathered there and drove the humans out to establish their own nation, seeking protection their forests could not offer against the spread of the Western religion. The elves there ask our high elf to help them build a thriving kingdom for elves that can defend itself against their enemies. Acer promises to stay for ten years before he returns to his search for Win in the Far West.
